“WOW, what a weekend we just had!!
After a washout Friday night, losing my voice last night, getting blisters on my feet, and hosting a Father’s Day Brunch today, the wedding weekend is officially over! It’s bittersweet.
I wanted to say THANK YOU for making it so much easier on me to plan the rehearsal from so far away. The food was absolutely delicious!!!! I can’t tell you how many people told me how much they enjoyed everything.
Cayla, I am so glad we increased the lamb chops, lobster rolls & pigs in a blanket as there was not one single piece left of them. I understand people were waiting near the door to get them. I did try the Lobster rolls & they were amazing. I think it was a tie on which was the nights favorite, lamb chop or lobster roll ???
You planned the quantities perfectly, because there really weren’t any leftovers.
Last nights dinner was equally delicious!
Thank you for being so patient with me when I had to switch gears completely. It isn’t easy trying to plan & organize an event from 1500 miles away. Not knowing you or your catering business, I took others word that you were good, and I don’t regret for one second having Lavishly Dunn cater the rehearsal, everything was perfect !!!!

Plated Dinner
“I must tell you that last night met and exceeded all expectations.
Jonathan and Brianna were consummate professionals, ultra friendly, very versed on the food and preparation, and perfect for this type of occasion.
The setup and takedown was seamless and invisible. Sign of professionals
Now the food:
We could have eaten the appetizers all night. They were all wonderful. We all were commented that those shrimp cakes would make an amazing main course served over an arugula salad or something…one of the best things we have ever had.
The bisque was sensational and had so many perfect elements of potato, veg, and of course the seafood. Not sure how the cod became the star, but it was perfection.
The salad was a light and perfect transition.
We all commented that the sole dish was possibly one of the best fish dishes we ever ate. Light, buttery, flaky… the entire package with the beans, risotto, oil, herbs was beautiful and well balanced.
By the time dessert came we were terribly full, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the pots de creme.
We will spread the word and certainly enjoy ordering from the cafe as well as dinner parties in the future”

“Jessica was a delight to work with from the start. She was enthusiastic, she came up with wonderful ideas to help our event be special and suit the hosts. She also was understanding of our budget constraints and worked hard to create an elegant event that we could afford. She responded within minutes to email and was readily available by phone, even once on her vacation! The event itself went very well. The food was excellent and received many compliments from a crowd that goes to enough local catered events to be picky. The space was used well and our strange requests were all fulfilled with ease. We had one glitch with the service during the event. We agreed a time for the cake to be ready at the end of the event, and yet after sending all our guests to the table there was no cake for about 5 minutes. If we hadn’t set a time, we would understand this being our fault, but given the overall number of staff available, we were a bit disappointed. Other than that small problem, the rest of the event went beautifully without any problems.”

“Jonathan and his team were amazing! I had them cook Christmas dinner for my family and I and it was wonderful! The prime rib melted in our mouths! The staff is friendly and kind. Jonathan and his team came to my house and cooked for 25 and made it look easy! I will never stress about family dinners ever again!! Jonathan worked with me on the menue and with his help, I was even able to please my sister-in-law who is vegan! I highly recommend Lavishly Dunn Catering!”

“Christmas Eve dinner at our home welcomes old and new friends for the Feast of the Seven Fishes. I don’t imagine this type of event a caterers dream as the menu is defined by tradition. Jonathan kicked the dishes up to a whole new dimension to the delight of all! His passion and perfectionism is reflected in all of the details from planning to the fabulous meal. This review is for Jessica T., event planner. Jessica gets it. She is organized, enthusiastic, and genuinely excited to plan your event. Not just polite excited so she gets your business, but genuinely excited. She replies to your emails the same day and she is just super awesome. I desperately wanted Jessica to plan/cater my wedding, but the restrictions of my venue proved to be a worthy foe and I never actually got to hire her. But for months she entertained my crazy ideas, met with me, took notes, raised her insurance (for my venue), and gave me a few ideas (like my wedding DATE) that I am totally stoked on. She did all this without a contract and with no obligation! She knows her stuff and how to do business. The business philosophy of Lavishly Dunn is also spot on. They don’t charge you all sorts of crazy fees and surcharges. You pay only for tangible things which is so important nowadays with caterers. You are one lucky duck if you get to work with Jessica because she rocks”

He worked with my sister on a customized menu to meet my friends and families picky taste. He truly loves what he does and it shows through his food and presentation. He even called my sister the morning of the event to see if she forgot anything at the store! I was so happy to have found Lavishly Dunn because it gave me a chance to sit and enjoy myself without running around worrying about the food and drinks. We are hoping to have Jonathan cater our families Christmas Eve party.”

Awesome Awesomeness
“We went with Lavishly Dunn for many reasons. Of course a big reason was that he was in our budget and had come back with the most reasonable quote we had been given. But more importantly the food was delish, well presented, and we loved Jonathan’s personality. Throughout the process Jonathan was quick to reply to our questions, open to our suggestions and willing to work with us on every aspect. His staff was professional and courteous. The event went smoothly. And our guests enjoyed the food!! The menu offerings are varied and he’s open to suggestions about how to improve upon his food. Pricing was per item (and very fair!). This was helpful as we did a cocktail style reception with stations versus sit down. Also it makes mixing and matching easy as can be! You can easily put together a little something something for under $25/head. Also depends on if you go through them for your alcohol needs (which you can! Beer and wine was roughly $8/head for us, I believe) Jonathan also worked with me to make a few things separate as I had a lactose intolerant friend. He some how found her and provided her with her special eats without a problem. And lastly, I made my own cupcakes and had a DIY mini cupcake bar (w/ take home containers, for the “favors”). I had marked all the bags of frosting and had included a smaller bag w/ a name of a guest (I told my friend, who has a slight frosting obsession, that I’d have a bag with his name on it). I forgot to inform Jonathan of this and figured it would get put into a new icing bag with the rest of the frosting to be used (which would’ve been fine). Some how, probably my friend drooling over the frosting, one of the staff found Adam and gave him his bag of frosting. It’s the little things that really make the difference.”

“I used Lavishly Dunn for my wedding. I had looked into several caterers and at some points was blown away with the quotes I was getting for what I was looking for. A little out of control! What I (and my fiance and in-laws) liked about Jonathan was that he was the total package that we were looking for. He was friendly, down to earth, fairly priced AND had yummy food to back it all up! He was between office spaces when we were planning a tasting, so he came to us. He had everything he needed to put on a full, proper tasting, down to the table settings. He even cleaned up better than he found the kitchen! haha. He was always available via email, promptly getting back to me whenever I emailed and worked around what I was doing as well, incorporating it effortlessly into the grand plan (I did all the baking for the wedding, Cupcakes and dessert buffet). I would absolutely use him again! (in fact my in-laws used him for a dinner party they hosted a couple of months before the wedding!) Another thing I thought was great about Jonathan is that he was open to any feedback we gave him and was able to take it and incorporate it into what he was doing (there were a couple things we tasted that we liked but thought maybe needed just a little more kick to or whatever. Nothing major or else I wouldn’t be raving about him!). Thank you Lavishly Dunn, Inc. for rocking my wedding!! Got lots of positive feedback about the food from our guests!”
